patient and let us have it (downtown Tokyo) for one week, we will have
a sequence that will be forever remembered." Cruise and Abrams did the
same thing for Mission: Impossible III in Shanghai, China after
government officials agreed to shut the city down at night for... (more)

Cruise on Suri's Birth: It Was 'Powerful and Spiritual'

Days after fianceé Katie Holmes
gave birth to their first child, Suri, superstar actor Tom Cruise tells
ABC News their baby girl is "beautiful," and that the birth was all the
couple had hoped.

Watch a special "20/20" - "Primetime" two-hour program tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET.

"It was everything that we wanted it to be. … It was spiritual. It was
powerful. It was indescribable. What words can you use? It's still
something that I'm processing and keep reliving," Cruise told "20/20's"
Deborah Roberts.

Tom Cruise and his fiance, Katie Holmes, welcomed the birth of
a daughter.
I heard the good news today. They
named her Suri, which "has its origins in Hebrew, meaning
'princess,' or in Persian, meaning 'red rose'.
The baby weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 20 inches long. Both mother and daughter were doing well.

In a recent TV interview Tom Cruise said that the best way to find out
about the Scientology Religion is by reading a book and finding out for
yourself. I think this is so true. I just finished reading several of
the basic books and have to say it really is the only way to really
find out what Scientology realy is.

ANNE ARCHER on Silent Birth

Actress ANNE ARCHER commented on the plans of TOM CRUISE and KATIE HOLMES'
for a silent birth later this month. Archer, a
Scientologist for 30 years, voices her view that a silent labor is designed to be a peaceful
experience. She says, "We just want to keep the environment as calm,
quiet and loving as possible. "Any culture in the world would
understand that and any woman who's given birth would understand that."

What Travolta said about Silent Birth

The heavily pregnant Katie Holmes plans to adhere
to the advice of having a quiet or silent birth. In this regard fellow Scientologist John Travolta says, "There
are unwanted emotions and pain that goes along with any birth." Preston said the Scientology-friendly labor doesn't forbid the mum-to-be
from yelling out in pain: "Screaming is fine... It's the words. If you
can avoid saying certain phrases and words... Just try to keep it as
quiet as possible. "Of course you're going to groan and yell. It hurts.
Just keep it to a minimum."

More on Silent Birth.

TOM CRUISE was so exhilarated on the first day of filming upcoming movie sequel MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III he began singing the classic TV show's theme song midway through an action sequence.
The 43-year-old's impromptu a cappella performance left his co-star JONATHAN RHYS-MEYERS more than a little surprised.
Rhys-Meyers says, "The first day of shooting, Tom and I were on this speedboat. That was the first time I met him.
"The next thing I hear is him under his breath, 'Da-da-da-da-da-doodle-do.' He was so excited that he was humming the theme song.
"At first I thought they'd put the... (more)
